Now, you can follow their footsteps by cycling EuroVelo 5 our 3,200 km version of this legendary route. The route passes through 7 different countries and links both modern and ancient institutions, with many cathedrals, churches, monuments and museums mixing along this route with the major European Institutions in Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg. Whether you want a short break or a long adventure, EuroVelo 5 offers something for everyone!

The circuit ends in Colmar with its beautiful historic centre, its charming pedestrian streets and its many museums, such the Unterlinden Museum which has been beautifully restored.

You can discover rich tourist and cultural heritage of the region with all of its beautiful villages Obernai, Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé and of course Eguisheim, and at the same time, you will get the opportunity to climb a few beautiful and famous mountains of the Vosgien Piedmont as the Mont Saint Odile or the "Haut-Koenigsbourg"! The beautiful journey ends in Colmar, Alsace wine capital with its beautiful historic centre.

The tour offers the visit of the 3 UNESCO sites of Puglia and Basilicata: Castel del Monte, Matera and Alberobello, connected one to the next by very quiet country roads running along National or Regional Parks. The Greenway running along the Apulian Aqueduct is today open to the public in the first stretch, and offers the very best possible views of the landscape of valle d’Itria. Level of difficulty: medium (relaxed activity).

The Via Francigena cycling itinerary takes you from the snowy peaks of Grand St. Bernard then through the Apennines. The scenery varies among millenary churches, continuing on the iconic dirt roads of Siena crossing the Val d’Orcia. You will be amazed by the beauty of Lake Bolsena and by the ancient road of the Via Cassia, still intact after 2000 years. Surprises continue, from the Roman amphitheater of Sutri, to the beautiful cycle path until your destination St. Peter Square.
