Combine art, nature and history in this stage of EuroVelo 5. From Pietrasanta, and its famous contemporary works of art, to Campus Maior, with a scenic backdrop of the Apuan Alps, you will visit the most important medieval towns of Tuscany, some recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These towns are marked by the journeys of Merchants, pilgrims, Popes and emperors, with the renowned landscape of Val d’Orcia making this stage ideal for slow travellers. You will cross beautiful villages like Acquapendente and Bolsena, cycle beside a volcanic lake, and arrive in Montefiascone and Viterbo, an area of Etruscan origins.
