Enjoy the lovely, peaceful landscapes of the Baselbieter Jura, followed by a thrilling ride down to Aarau. Off the beaten track, cycle through flat Suhrental, joining the stream of tourists in Luzern. A brief hop over the Teufelsbrücke bridge towards the Gotthard, and the south of Switzerland beckons you with a racy downhill ride. Here you will observe a change in your surroundings, granite rocks becoming chestnut trees and vineyards. In Bellinzona «La Turita», don't miss a glimpse of the vegetable garden of Magadino. Visit the Lago di Lugano with the photogenic village of Morcote, and at the end, the beautiful Mendrisiotto Region.

EuroVelo 5 follows the North-South national cycle route in Switzerland. The North–South Route leads through the large scenic Swiss regions of the Jura, Mittelland, Central Switzerland and over the Alps to the south. It follows many historically and culturally significant traffic routes and visits many places of interest.
