EuroVelo 6 Atlantic – Black Sea

In Romania, EuroVelo 6 connects Bazias and the Black Sea. You can start your Romanian experience cycling along the Danube through Bela Crkva/Naidas, or you can cross by boat at Moldova Veche. From Bazias to Drobeta Turnu-Severin you will enjoy a spectacular natural landscape formed over centuries by the river passing through the Banat Mountains. From Drobeta Turnu-Severin onwards, the Danube flows along a large plain where you can cycle through a peaceful landscape and experience warm greetings from the local people. From Calarasi you continue riding towards Constanta (called by King Carol I "the lung of Romania"), passing through the city of Cernavoda, visiting The Ancient City of Histria (the city of Istria), watching the fauna and flora on the wild Corbu beach and tasting nationally famous local wines in the Navodari city area.

Public Transport and Bicycles in Romania

In Romania, bikes are allowed on Regio and InterRegio trains. Cyclists have to buy a bike ticket. The trains service every town and city. The Romanian rail network is the fourth-largest in Europe and very dense.
