EuroVelo 6 in Bulgaria starts near Bregovo, in the area of Vidin, and goes through Lom, Kozloduy, Swishtov and Ruse until it reaches Silistra, where cyclists can continue to the Danube Delta. The cycling trail is marked mainly on asphalt roads as close as possible to the river and offers good touristic opportunities, especially for birdwatching, and close interaction with unspoiled natural environments.
Public Transport and Bicycles in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, bikes can be transported on all trains at cheap prices. This applies to both the modern trains, where there is more empty space for bicycles, and to the older ones. Normal train tickets come at very competitive prices in Bulgaria as well.
