EuroVelo 6, from Saint-Brevin-les-Pins to Mulhouse, following the Loire, the Saône and the Doubs, is the most famous and prestigious cycle route in France. It is divided into two sections : La Loire à Vélo and the EuroVelo 6 from Nevers to Basel. The route goes through numerous cities and villages full of a rich historical heritage, some listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
With almost 1.300 km of completely developed roads, EuroVelo 6 is one of the easiest and most pleasant in France. It connects the Atlantic to the Alsace, follows the Loire ‘à Vélo’ from the river mouth in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins passing by canals in Burgundy, the Saône and Doubs valleys, to the Rhône-Rhine Canal.
