In Romania, the itinerary of EuroVelo 13 crosses three of the country’s counties (Timiș, Caraș Severin and Mehedinți) and has a total length of 280 km. On the first section, cyclists ride through beautiful wine growing regions. The second part of the Trail in Romania links with EuroVelo 6 – Atlantic–Black Sea along the River Danube. Here you will experience the “Iron Gates”, a series of spectacular gorges formed as the Danube flows between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains. Close to the Serbian city of Niš, cyclists will again cross the border into Romania and discover an attractive but more mountainous part of the country.
