The luminous Loire River is wild in parts, with prestigious vineyards along its banks, as well as historic mariners’ towns and a fabulous Nature Reserve. In the Anjou area you will find river islands and vine covered slopes, covering subterranean caves in which some cultivate mushrooms. Between Angers and Orléans you enter the most iconographic part of the Loire valley: the kings’ castles valley (UNESCO World heritage). The castles are emblematic of the majestic lifestyle of the aristocracywhen they were constructed. Now they share their splendour with cyclists! Following the river, the visitor is rewarded by relics of the ancient Roman Empire.
