EuroVelo 7 Sun Route

Germany

From the German port of Rostock on the Baltic Sea coast, the EuroVelo 7 follows the Berlin-Copenhagen Cycle Route (D-Route 11). Passing through the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania it takes the route south towards the Mecklenburg Lakes. The towns of Neustrelitz and Güstrow offer cultural attractions on the way. It then follows the Havel River and the towns of Oranienburg and Fürstenberg/Havel and the tranquil expanse of the state of Brandenburg towards Berlin. After Berlin, the route eventually connects to the Elbe Cycle Route (D-Route 10) which leads through Dresden, and then takes you all the way to the Czech border.

Development status

[EV7] Berlin-Copenhagen

From Berlin, the route continues northwards into the sprawling Brandenburg scenery, along the River Havel. On the way to the Baltic coast, the route crosses through the Mecklenburg lake district with Lake Müritz and its over one hundred other lakes and rivers. Countless towns well worth a visit lie along the route to the Hanseatic city of Rostock, where it is possible to take the ferry across to Gedser in Denmark.
