  • Certified These sections were awarded the official EuroVelo Certification label, ensuring high-quality cycling conditions.They were surveyed in the field by EuroVelo Route Inspectors to respect minimum requirements for motorised traffic levels, surface quality, EuroVelo signage, and access to services as defined by the European Certification Standard (ECS) methodology. EuroVelo Certified routes are the best options for beginners!
  • Developed + Signed These sections offer generally good cycling conditions, with limited motorised traffic, rideable surfaces, and EuroVelo signs along the route. Developed routes with signs are suitable for most cyclists. However, short stretches with lower-quality conditions may occur, and it is recommended to bring a map or navigation app as signs can have defects.
  • Developed + Not Signed These sections offer generally good cycling conditions, with limited motorised traffic and rideable surfaces, but without EuroVelo signs. Developed routes without signs are suitable for most cyclists. However, short stretches with lower-quality conditions may occur, and it is warmly recommended to bring a map or navigation app.
  • Partially Developed + Signed Cycling is possible here, but conditions vary. Some stretches may have high motorised traffic or poor surfaces, even though EuroVelo signs are in place. Partially developed routes with signs are suitable for experienced cyclists only, and it is recommended to bring a map or navigation app and check national/regional websites for more information. ECF and National EuroVelo Coordination Centres are working on improvements.
  • Partially Developed + Not Signed Cycling is possible here, but conditions vary. Some stretches may have high motorised traffic or poor surfaces, and EuroVelo signs are not in place. It is recommended to use public transport to skip these areas where possible.
  • Public transport link These sections include continuity across seas or rivers and undeveloped parts of the network that can be skipped with a reliable public transport connection allowing bicycle transport.

De ADFC is een landelijke non-profitorganisatie met meer dan 230.000 fiets-enthousiaste leden, die zich gezamenlijk ten doel stelt de wegen veiliger te maken voor fietsers en voetgangers. National EuroVelo Coordination Centre

The Federal Logistics and Mobility Office (BALM) is the central lead partner for the promotion of cycling on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Transport. The BALM is the is the first point of contact for a lot of questions referring to the funding and the promotion of bicycle traffic. Thus, the BALM makes an essential contribution to the sustainable shaping of a safe, environmentally suitable mobility and to the accomplishment of the climate protection goals in the area of mobility. The Cycle Network Germany office at BALM is the project organiser for the German national cycle network. It forms the network of cycle routes of national importance and consists of the thirteen D-Routes, the German Unity Cycle Route and included the Iron Curtain Trail.

National EuroVelo Coordination Centre

Cycling Ireland is the National Governing Body for cycling on the island of Ireland, recognised internationally by the UCI and UEC. Cycling Ireland operates across all cycling disciplines and is dedicated to promoting, developing, and organising cycling activities. Cycling Ireland receives support from both governments on the island of Ireland. Cycling is considered one of the three priority sports within the Irish Government’s National Sports Policy 2018-2027. The National EuroVelo Coordination Centre and management of EuroVelo routes in the Republic of Ireland is led by the EuroVelo Route Manager based in the Development and Participation Unit of Cycling Ireland. Eurovelo in Northern Ireland is managed by Sustrans.

Route 4: Bristol & Bath path

Further information on National Route 4 - The immensely popular Bristol and Bath path provides a short (13 miles) tranquil walking and cycling path between the two cities. The path begins in the historic port of Bristol, and passes via Mangotsfield, Warmley and Saltford before arriving in the heart of Bath. You’ll find ideal stopping points for drinks and snacks at Bitton and Warmley stations, or you could enjoy a pub lunch at Saltford.

Route 4: Kennet & Avon Cycle Route

Further information on National Route 4 - This historic canal links the Thames and the Bristol Channel, weaving through spectacular scenery on its way from Bath to Reading. Its impressive architecture is in keeping with its surroundings that also provide a habitat for a diverse range of flora and fauna. Local attractions include; Bath Abbey, Claverton Pumping Station, Tithe Barn and Caen Locks.

Route 4: Thames Valley - Reading to Putney Bridge

Further information on National Route 4 - This popular route leads from the countryside into the bustling city of London along the Tames, passing through parks at Richmond and Hampton Court, the latter along the riverside path. The route travels through Staines and then onto Thorpe Park, for those wanting to test their mettle on the rides. Local attractions include; Tower of London, The London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.

Routes 1 & 51: London Docklands & Lea Valley

Further information on National Routes 1 and 51 - The route heads out of London from Greenwich in a northerly direction along the traffic-free London Docklands and Lea Valley cycle route into Hertfordshire. From Harlow the route travels through Essex and takes you via Chelmsford to Colchester before joining route 51. The section between Colchester and Harwich forms part of the North Sea Cycle Route, also known as EuroVelo 12.
