The Baltic Sea Cycle Route is one of the most popular cycle routes in Germany. Its itinerary is never far from the seashore and you will pass popular seaside resorts like Kühlungsborn, Heiligendamm (‘the white town by the sea’) and Warnemünde, each sporting the distinctive stripped ‘Strandkorbs’ (beach chairs). In between, there is a wealth of natural beauty to explore, including Germany’s largest island, Rügen (with its famous chalk cliffs) and the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, which is a popular resting place for migratory birds. There are plenty of cultural diversions as well in Greifswald, Stralsund, Wismar, Lübeck and Kiel.

EuroVelo 10 is also part of the national long-distance cycle route network in Germany as D-Route 2.
