The R1 route is a trans-European cycling path, passing through France, Germany, Poland, the Baltic States.
EuroVelo routes in Russia are currently being developed but cycle touring on conventional roads is already possible. EuroVelo 2 - Capitals Route enters Russia from Belarus and continues toward Moscow, where you can visit the world famous Red Square. EuroVelo 10 and EuroVelo 13 go across Vyborg and Saint-Petersburg, following the Baltic Coast. But EuroVelo 10 enters Russia again between Lithuania and Poland, to cross the Kaliningrad Oblast. If you are unsure about visas or accommodation when cycling in Russia, the Russian Cycle Touring Club is available to answer any questions about travelling by bike.

This brochure is ideal for a better understanding of the history of the countries which were separated by the Iron Curtain. The brochure provides overview maps and descriptions of the stages, as well as the history of the countries and a presentation of the major points of interest.
This guide covers Finland and the Baltic Sea Coast. The maps in the revised edition are scaled larger at 1:120,000 from Helsinki to Riga, and from Grense Jakobselv to Vaalimaa it remains at 1:400,000. This volume describes the 3700-kilometre-long part of the route from the Barents Sea to Riga.
